Civil Aviation University of China (CAUC) is a public university in Tianjin, established in 1951 as a civil aviation training school. It now serves about 22,000–30,000 full-time students across undergraduate and graduate levels. CAUC offers a wide variety of academic programmes and training in fields related to aviation, aerospace engineering, air traffic management, transportation, safety engineering, computer science, business, and more. The university combines technical education, research, and professional training with strong links to civil aviation authorities, airlines, and global aviation bodies, giving students practical exposure and industry-relevant skills. International students can enrol in English-taught bachelor and master programmes (e.g. Communication Engineering, Business Administration, Air Traffic Control) under an English-foundation or regular admission track. CAUC maintains active international cooperation with bodies like IATA, ICAO, and major aviation manufacturers — offering training, internships, and research opportunities.

CAUC was established on September 25, 1951, originally as the “No. 2 Civil Aviation School” under China’s civil aviation authority. Over time the school changed names several times — becoming “Civil Aviation College of China” in 1981, and, on May 30, 2006, adopting the current name “Civil Aviation University of China”. CAUC has grown into a major national institution for aviation-related education and research. It now operates multiple campuses and flight-training bases across China, offers a wide range of disciplines (engineering, management, science, humanities), and trains large numbers of aviation professionals. Over decades CAUC has educated thousands of graduates who now work in civil aviation — in China and worldwide. Its research labs and training programs support aircraft maintenance, air traffic management, aviation safety, and other sectors.

Students choose CAUC for strong, aviation-focused education, access to specialized training, and good support for international learners. The university offers programmes in aerospace engineering, air traffic management, communication, business and other fields relevant to aviation and transport. CAUC works closely with civil aviation authorities and airlines, giving students chances for practical training, internships, and real-world exposure. English-taught bachelor and master programmes are available, making it accessible to non-Chinese speakers. International students receive support from the admissions office — including help with visa procedures, accommodation, and arrival guidance. CAUC’s long history in aviation training gives it stability and industry-linked credentials.
