PTE Academic is a fast, fully computer based English test accepted by leading universities and colleges worldwide, helping you meet English language requirements for study in the UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Europe and the United States.
PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English) is a fully computer delivered English language examination used for university and college admissions, courses requiring English proficiency, and some visa and migration pathways depending on the country.
The test measures your skills in Speaking and Writing (combined section), Reading, and Listening. PTE uses advanced AI scoring and integrated tasks, meaning one question can assess multiple skills at the same time.
Results are usually available within a few days, making PTE a popular choice for students with short application deadlines. Scores range from 10 to 90, with each institution setting its own minimum score requirement.
PTE Academic is suitable if you are an international student applying to universities that accept PTE, prefer a fully computer based exam without handwriting or face to face speaking, want a test with frequent availability and fast results, need a test that fits into tight application timelines, are comfortable with integrated tasks and artificial intelligence scoring, or want an alternative to IELTS or TOEFL.
Our team helps you check if your chosen university, programme or visa category accepts PTE Academic.
Universities have different English requirements. At BHE UNI, we ensure your PTE preparation aligns with your chosen institution and country, the required PTE score for admission, scholarships or conditional entry requirements, and application and visa timelines.
Before booking your exam, our team will assess whether your chosen institutions accept PTE Academic, the scores you need for your programme, your current English strengths and weaknesses, and your ideal test date and preparation timeline.
During this free session you will receive target score recommendations, a personalised preparation plan, guidance on test strategies, and next steps for your study abroad journey.
PTE Academic is completed in a single computer-based session and includes three main sections.
This section tests both your verbal and written English through tasks such as Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence, Describe Image, Re-tell Lecture, Answer Short Questions, Summarise Written Text, and Essay Writing (200–300 words).
Reading tasks assess your comprehension through multiple choice questions, re-ordering paragraphs, and fill in the blanks (reading and reading-writing types).
Listening tasks evaluate your ability to understand spoken English through summarise spoken text, multiple choice questions based on audio, fill in the blanks, highlight incorrect words, and select correct summaries.
PTE's integrated scoring means strong performance in one task can support scores in multiple skills.
We focus on strategic preparation for each skill area.
Many international institutions accept PTE Academic, IELTS Academic, Duolingo English Test, and Oxford ELLT / OIETC.
Choosing the right test depends on university admission requirements, visa regulations, application deadlines, and your personal comfort with the test format. We help you choose the exam that best supports your study goals and long term plans.
