Chinese language program

Course Overview

This six‑month Mandarin program helps students develop solid communication skills through daily language practice and structured lessons. Learners progress in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, gaining confidence in real‑life situations such as shopping, travel, or university study.CAUC’s academic setting and cultural environment give language learners regular contact with Chinese peers and local community experiences. Students can build a foundation for further academic degrees or careers requiring Mandarin in China, Asia, and other regions. The certificate received after completion shows achievement in language studies and can support future applications to degree programs or jobs where Mandarin skills are valued.

General Eligibility

Eligibility:

• Non‑Chinese citizen with a valid passport

• At least 18 years old

• High school graduate or above

• Good physical health and no serious criminal record

Part Time Work Details

Students with a valid study visa may apply for on‑campus work with permission (often limited to ~20 hours per week during term; subject to CPU and Chinese visa regulations).

Language Requirement

• Since the course is taught in Chinese, CAUCwill generally require students to be able to communicate in basic English for administrative purposes, but formal English scores are usually not required for admission to the language program. The key requirement is Mandarin learning commitment; CAUC may assess your level at entry.
