Applied learning is the heartbeat of our teaching. As well as live projects and placements. Our end-of-year Grand Challenge is a great opportunity – a company sets a group industry challenge for you and your team to work on. Biomedical engineering is a very diverse field which is also developing rapidly. To help you become a bioengineer of the future, we work closely with the industry to ensure you are as well-prepared as possible for a career in this exciting and rewarding industry.
By thinking and learning wider than just your subject area, we’ll support you to find solutions to health issues and be the best of the best in your career. Able to follow different career paths, such as those focusing on biomechanical, bio-electronic, or human performance, you’ll get input from our experts in mechanical and electronic engineering, as well as human performance and biomedicine. Areas of bioengineering covered in this course are biomaterials, bio instrumentation, biomechanics, medical imaging, rehabilitation, and cellular, tissue, and genetic engineering.
By taking part in industry-led projects, you’ll learn by problem-solving and developing practical engineering skills – giving you experience of what it’s like to work as a professional engineer. Our Biomedical Engineering courses are highly practical and use real examples and projects from industry and medicine. In this course, you’ll look at current health issues and develop materials, processes, and devices that help prevent or treat disease or rehabilitate patients.
