Panzhihua University sits in Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province — a region known for its vanadium‑titanium industry and natural environment. The university aims to provide applied‑talent education mixing engineering, sciences, medicine, arts, agriculture, and more.  PZU offers many undergraduate and associate degree programs, along with recent master‑degree granting status.

PZU emphasizes practical training, scientific research, innovation and entrepreneurship. It maintains strong labs and research centers — including a national key laboratory on vanadium‑titanium resources, multiple provincial key labs, and facilities for medical, materials science, environmental, and resource‑related research.  The university also supports internationalization: it admits foreign students in medicine and other majors, and maintains cooperation with overseas institutions.

PZU combines a broad disciplinary base (engineering, science, medicine, humanities, agriculture, management, arts) with a mission of applied, vocationally relevant education. Its combination of academic variety, research capability, and openness to international students gives it a distinctive appeal for students seeking flexibility, practical skills, or global exposure

Fees & Funding

  • Tuition (undergraduate, typical majors): ~ RMB 18,000–20,000/year depending on discipline (engineering, medicine, humanities, etc.).

  • On‑campus accommodation: modest dorm fees per year — university-managed dorms for students, including international students.

  • Additional costs: insurance, residence permit, living expenses, materials, etc. Funding support or scholarships may offset some of these costs for qualified students.

Panzhihua University traces its roots to 1983, when it was founded as a tertiary institution in Panzhihua.  In 1994 it merged with a local education college, broadening its academic scope. In 2001 it was approved as an undergraduate‑level college and renamed Panzhihua College (later “Panzhihua University”). The institution gained the right to award bachelor’s degrees in 2005. Over time it expanded in size, infrastructure, and academic offerings. As of recent data, it runs dozens of undergraduate programs, a number of postgraduate (master’s) programs, and serves a student body from across China and abroad.  PZU has developed research capacity — establishing key laboratories in materials research (vanadium and titanium) and building ties with industry and enterprise to support applied research.

Many students choose PZU because it offers a wide range of disciplines — engineering, science, medicine, economics, arts, agriculture and more — giving flexibility to match diverse interests. The university emphasizes applied and vocational education, aiming to produce graduates with practical skills backed by academic knowledge. PZU provides modern facilities: teaching buildings, laboratories, a large library, and an affiliated hospital for medical and health‑related programs.  For students interested in materials science and industry‑oriented research, PZU offers strengths in vanadium‑titanium materials, resource‑related engineering and environmental studies thanks to its national key labs and industry partnerships. The mix of academic variety, research and applied‑talent focus, plus a supportive environment for innovation and entrepreneurship, makes PZU a suitable choice for students looking for both theory and practical skills.

Scholarships, Bursaries, and Funding

PZU supports innovation, entrepreneurship, and applied‑talent cultivation. Student Accommodation

PZU offers on‑campus dormitories for students, including facilities for medical and other majors. Dormitory housing tends to be more affordable than private housing, which makes living on campus a practical option for many students.

Off-Campus Student Accommodations
