Course Overview

The interdisciplinary nature of the program prepares the student for further study in any number of academic fields at the graduate level. Students who take upper-division courses in Spanish to fulfil the elective requirements of the concentration should be well prepared to enter graduate programs in Language and Literature. Students who complete their language requirements and focus their electives in Political Science, History, Anthropology, or Latin American Studies should be prepared to enter graduate programs in those disciplines. The Latin American Studies concentration also provides valuable preparation for careers in diplomatic service, international organizations, education, banking, foreign missions, business, and consulting.
