Course Overview

The role of a sustainability professional is evolving from a specialist to a sustainability-literate change agent with a critical role in setting and delivering an organizational strategy that supports long-term organizational resilience and success.

The Sustainability MSc combines academics from our School of Water, Energy, and Environment and School of Management to create a holistic, multidisciplinary learning experience. The course is designed in consultation with industry to equip sustainability professionals and leaders in organizations of all sizes with this critical mix of technical and management skills. It will deepen your knowledge of the theory and practice of our organization's Alu stainability and help you build the personal competencies to lead and manage change toward improved sustainability performance.

On completion of the program, you will be awarded professional recognition as a Registered Environmental Practitioner (REnvP) and Practitioner Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) or Chartered Environmentalist (Full Member of the IEMA), depending on your level of experience before the course.

General Eligibility

We welcome applications from talented candidates from all backgrounds. Candidates are usually high-potential early-career managers with one to five years of post-qualification experience in any sector. Usually, candidates must hold either a:

  • First or a 2.1 UK honors degree in a relevant discipline, or

  • an international qualification of a standard equivalent to a First or 2.1 UK honors degree

Candidates typically possess a first or second-class UK honors degree (or international equivalent). Alternatively, we will consider a professional qualification (such as CIMA, ACA, ACCA) and a minimum of five years’ post-qualification work experience.

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • IELTS 6.5 overall and 5.5 in all skill components.
