Course Overview
The Environmental Studies B.A. was introduced at SLU-Madrid as a four-year program combining environmental science with social and human studies. Its curriculum covers earth systems, atmosphere and oceans, chemistry, biology, mathematics, statistics, environmental issues, communication and Geographic Information Systems.
Students can select a concentration that matches their interests. The program provides opportunities for fieldwork, internships and capstone work. Field trips may include natural parks, research institutes and environmental sites in Madrid and other parts of Spain. Students can complete the degree in Madrid or move between the Madrid and St. Louis campuses during their studies.
Graduates can pursue work or further study in areas such as business, government, law, economics and public policy. The degree can support students who want to combine environmental knowledge with another subject such as communication, economics, international politics or Spanish.
