Course Overview

Hull is a marketing professional’s dream. Here, as part of the Hull University Business School, you’ll study the latest marketing concepts, work on live business projects for international brands, and be fully supported by passionate and expert staff, who offer practical, hands-on experience.

Marketing is one of the fastest-growing industries and this course prepares you for a range of careers.

You’ll learn to understand consumer behavior through marketing intelligence and analytics and how to harness the power of digital marketing and social media.

You’ll explore market dynamics, marketing communications, and branding while discovering the ‘holistic marketing’ approach: balancing an organization’s goals against the needs of the environment and society.

Plus, you’ll have even more opportunities than ever before to make connections that will help you in your future career, from our many links with the industry, as well as meeting with like-minded entrepreneurs, organizations, and corporate partners in our recently enhanced Business Lounge. And you'll have access to the Business School's industry-standard facilities like the Bloomberg and Executive Education suites. Or you could help SMEs with their challenges via our Business Clinic

Taking part in our program of live business projects will deepen and test your marketing skills, confidence and knowledge of marketing concepts. As part of the annual marketing challenge, students had the chance to work with Team GB on the challenge of creating a marketing strategy to keep fans engaged during the Olympic Games.

You’ll also have the opportunity to take part in a placement year to gain valuable work experience - and get paid. Recent companies who have worked with our students include Siemens Games, Jaguar Land Rover, IBM, and Sony. You’re supported throughout by our friendly tutors and professional staff. Not bad for enhancing the CV.

Our students have also been supported to achieve success in the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s national competition, ‘The Pitch’ (reaching the national finals). As we’re accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), that means you’ll be eligible for student membership. You can get exemptions from professional qualifications, access to a wider marketing network, and invitations to professional marketing events.

All Hull University Business School degrees have international accreditation from AACSB, which is held by fewer than 5% of business programs worldwide. In Year 1, you’ll take modules that are common across the whole Business School. That gives you a solid base of business knowledge – which employers often look for, as they want a general understanding of business as well as a specialism. It also means you’ll be able to change direction with your degree later in the course if you want to.

If that’s not enough, you can take your experience even further and study board – for a year, or summer school at exciting worldwide destinations including America, Sweden, Hong Kong, and France. Plus, you'll have access to our professional business lounge where you can meet external businesses and partners for advice, mentoring, and support, as well as fantastic networking opportunities.

A course giving you the valuable skills and experiences that employers actively look for. It’s our way of putting you – and your career – at the heart of what we do.
