Chinese language program

Course Overview

This one‑year Mandarin course gives students time to build core language skills. Classes cover listening, speaking, reading, and writing so learners can improve from beginner toward higher levels. SDUT’s international environment helps students meet peers from several countries, expanding cultural understanding and communication skills. Completing this program can help students enter other Chinese‑taught programs or feel more comfortable living and studying in China. The support services from the International Education Office help with practical needs such as accommodation placement and guidance through registration and visa procedures, helping students focus on their studies with confidence.

General Eligibility

• Citizenship & Health: Applicants must be non‑Chinese citizens with a valid passport and in good physical condition.

• Education: Applicants must hold a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Application: Students submit the international application form, passport copy, photo, academic certificate, health record, and any language proof requested by the admissions office.

• Scholarships: SDUT offers some scholarship options to international students; these may cover part of tuition and living costs depending on eligibility criteria set by the university.

• Visa: After acceptance, students receive an official Admission Letter and documents needed for a Chinese student visa (X visa).

Part Time Work Details

International students with a valid study visa (X visa) may apply for part‑time work with approval from university and local authorities; hours and limits follow Chinese visa rules (ask SDUT international office).

Language Requirement

• For this Mandarin course, teaching is in Chinese, so applicants focus on Chinese language entry requirements (there is no required IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or Duolingo test for English specifically for this program). Applicants need at least basic communication ability in English for admissions paperwork, but formal English test scores are not set for this program.
