Course Overview

The Environmental Monitoring Technology diploma was offered to help meet industry needs for trained environmental technicians. Over time, the training has expanded to include more lab practice and external cooperation with local monitoring bodies. Students gain a mix of classroom and hands-on experience with essential monitoring equipment and sampling methods used in environmental assessments.

This course supports student progress from basic monitoring skills to applied work, giving a clear grounding in the technology and procedures used in testing air, water, and soil quality. Teachers guide students through structured lab tasks and assessments that match real-world environmental scenarios. Many graduates find work in environmental monitoring centers, inspection units, industrial compliance departments, and environmental service firms. Some continue into bachelor-level studies in related science or engineering fields. General Eligibility

• Secondary school completion or equivalent qualification.

• Science or technical subjects preferred (e.g., chemistry, physics).

• Academic transcripts, passport copy, photo, and application.

• Scholarships include Chinese Government Scholarship, provincial awards, and HDU internal support (where available).

• International students must obtain a Chinese study visa before arrival.

Part Time Work Details

Part-time work allowances follow Chinese immigration rules; university approval needed

Language Requirement

• Diploma applicants whose program is offered in English may be asked to show one of the following:

  • IELTS: Overall 5.5

  • TOEFL iBT: 70

  • PTE Academic: 45

  • Duolingo English Test: 90
    For Chinese-taught programs, Mandarin requirement (HSK) may apply.
