Course Overview

On this forensic science degree you will study a unique approach to forensic science, encompassing not only the criminal aspects of the profession, but also the wider remit of science and justice in both the public and private sectors.

Designed by industry professionals, our forensic science course will allow you to develop the skills and knowledge highly valued amongst employers, including the ability to confidently investigate crimes, conduct independent laboratory analysis, process and analyse evidence and prepare statements for court proceedings. This learning will help prepare you to become a forensic scientist following graduation.

You won't just learn the theory throughout our forensic science degree. You'll be doing forensic science in hands-on sessions, including investigating complex crime scenes at our mock crime flat, through working alongside serving professionals at our award-winning major incident event, and applying practical laboratory skills to solving both criminal and commercial investigations in our state-of-the-art laboratories.

General Eligibility

  • A-levels: BBD-BBB to include Applied Science; Biology; Chemistry or Physics at C or above

  • T-levels: M T levels in Healthcare Science; Health and Science are accepted for entry to this course

  • Access to HE: 9 Credits at Distinction & 36 at Merit – 24 Credits at Distinction & 21 at Merit – Science Based

  • CACHE Technical Level 3 and Level 3 Extended Diploma: B - Science Based

  • OCR Cambridge Technical & Edexcel/Pearson BTEC Level 3 (National) Extended Diploma: MMM – DDM Science based

  • Scottish Highers: 96-120 UCAS Tariff Points preferably from 4 Highers to include Applied Science; Biology; Chemistry or Physics

  • Irish LC Highers: 96-120 UCAS Tariff Points preferably from 4 Irish Leaving Certificate Highers to include Applied Science; Biology; Chemistry or Physics

Part Time Work Details

20 Hours of Work permit weekly for international students.
