This course is primarily aimed at international students looking to progress into a career in educational roles. Education in the UK and overseas is constantly changing. This makes it a fascinating field of study, with varied employment opportunities when you graduate. The course examines a range of contemporary UK and international education systems with a specific focus on education as a business. It will build your awareness of business enterprise in education for individuals and organizations as you consider management approaches, organizational culture and behaviour, and marketing. This course emphasises the political, social, technological, and economic context of education, presenting theories related to these aspects so that you can critically understand education systems worldwide. The course addresses the fast-changing educational environment, giving you the skills to respond to those changes within various educational settings. Youll have the opportunity to make national and international comparisons and analyze and solve education-related problems globally.
All entrants are generally required to hold an intermediate-level qualification (gained by examination) or equivalent. Broadly such qualifications can include the following:
Higher National Diploma (or equivalent)
Initial teaching qualification from a recognised teacher education institution
Successful completion of a Higher Education qualification with 120 European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits (or equivalent)
Preference is for an appropriate subject such as Education or Childhood. However, the primary criterion will be a person's ability to benefit from the programme so that consideration will be given to holders of alternative recognised degrees or diplomas.
20 Hours of work permit weekly for international students.
English language competence is required. The general entry criteria for this course are International English Language Test System (IELTS) 6.0 or Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) 87.
