This course prepares you for a business and finance career that is, directly and indirectly, related to the energy industries. You will learn economics, accounting, finance, and management of the energy and natural resources sector. You can choose from a range of energy specialist modules, such as electricity economics and policy, petroleum economics and policy, commodity trading and risk management, as well as finance modules including financial statements and analysis, security analysis and equity valuation, investment analysis, venture capital, and private equity, from the business school. As the world economy is transitioning from a high-carbon to a low-carbon energy mix, our curriculum has evolved. No matter what the energy source, we prepare you with skills for a successful business career in the energy sector: issue identification, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
An honours degree in Law, Economics, Finance, Geology, Petroleum, or Mining Engineering at lower second class or above Consideration will also be given to applicants with other academic backgrounds who explain clearly their motivation for undertaking the relevant LLM, outlining any relevant legal work experience
