This course will prepare you for a business and management career related to the energy industry. You will learn economics, accounting, finance, and management of the energy and natural resources sector. You can choose from a range of specialist modules, such as electricity economics and policy, petroleum economics and policy, economic regulation and low carbon transition, international relations, and transatlantic negotiation simulation. As the world economy is transitioning from a high-carbon to a low-carbon energy mix, our curriculum has evolved. No matter what the energy source, we focus on teaching whats necessary for a successful business career in the energy sector: issue identification, critical thinking, and problem-solving. You will learn to analyze, synthesize, and articulate concepts and best practices relevant to the energy industry. You will understand the fundamental drivers of various energy markets, such as oil, gas, and electric power. You'll be equipped to become or to assist C-suite decision-makers in the energy industries. Youll acquire this knowledge and skills through lectures, seminars, master classes, internships or projects, and student-led extracurricular activities.
An honours degree in Law, Economics, Finance, Geology, Petroleum, or Mining Engineering at lower second class or above Consideration will also be given to applicants with other academic backgrounds who explain clearly their motivation for undertaking the relevant LLM, outlining any relevant legal work experience
