Our Accounting and Finance course (with Foundation Year) is a four-year course with an integrated foundation year which leads to the same qualification as our three-year honors degree. It has been specifically designed for those wanting to undertake degree-level study but who may not meet the entry requirements or have traditional qualifications. The Foundation Year (Year 0) offers you the chance to expand and strengthen your confidence, skills, and knowledge €“ ensuring that you are well-prepared and qualified to progress into Year 1 of the undergraduate degree. By studying for a degree in Accounting and Finance, you will acquire skills that are central to the management of organizations, for measuring performance and maintaining the cash flows that are essential for the prosperity of any private company or public sector organization. Accounting is much more than just the mechanical manipulation of financial data to produce company accounts. The methods for preparing accounting information must be applied with judgment, and with an understanding of the purposes for which the information will be used. A wide range of decision-makers needs to understand the key principles which underpin a cost or profit figure produced by an accountant.
