As a BOptom (Hons) Optometry student at ARU, youll study in our specialist eye care facilities, learning how to perform eye examinations, diagnose sight problems, improve peoples vision and manage a range of eye conditions. Youll spend much of your time in our University Eye Clinic. A working clinic thats open to the public, it boasts 16 fully-equipped testing rooms and the latest optometric equipment such as an optical coherence tomographer, video slitlamps, and videokeratoscopes. With support from expert tutors and the chance to gain work experience, this is the perfect place to train as an optometrist.
Grades AAB at A level with grades AA to come from 2 Subjects from Maths, Physics, Biology, Chemistry at first sitting or first resit. 5 GCSEs at grade C, or grade 4, or above, including English and Maths at grade C, or grade 4, and either Physics at grade B, or grade 5, or Double Award Science at grades BB, or grades 55.
If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.0 (Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.
