PGCE - SECONDARY

The University of Worcester's PGCE Secondary programme is designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to become an effective and inspiring teacher. Our course focuses on developing your understanding of pedagogy, curriculum design, and assessment methods, as well as your ability to work effectively in a secondary school setting. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced teachers and educators, and to gain practical experience through school placements. Upon completion of the course, you will be recommended for QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and ready to embark on your teaching career.

Our PGCE Secondary programme is delivered in partnership with local secondary schools, providing you with a range of placement opportunities. You will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced teachers and mentors, and to observe and participate in lessons across a range of subjects. Whichever specialist subject you choose, you'll be taught in small seminar groups, and get plenty of academic and personal support from your tutors. You really get to know your subject and how to teach it.

The honours degree normally (2:2) or higher from the United Kingdom higher education institution or equivalent qualification, in a relevant subject area. Applicants with a 3rd class degree will be considered on an individual basis.
