PGCE - SECONDARY - ART AND DESIGN

The PGCE Secondary Art and Design program at the University of Worcester is designed to equip aspiring teachers with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed to teach Art and Design in a secondary school setting. The course covers a range of topics, including art history, design principles, and teaching methods, as well as providing opportunities for students to develop their own creative practice and gain hands-on experience through practical workshops and placements. Additional Information

The PGCE Secondary Art and Design program is a 30-week course that runs from September to June. Students will attend university one day per week and spend the remaining four days per week on teaching placements in local secondary schools. The program includes a range of assessments, including written assignments, presentations, and a final practical teaching portfolio. Graduates of the program can progress to become Art and Design teachers in secondary schools.

Honours degree (normally 2:2 or higher) from a UK higher education institution, or equivalent qualification, in design and technology or a related subject. Applicants with a 3rd class degree will be considered on an individual basis.
