Studying Animation and Graphic Design in combination provides you with an exciting opportunity to develop as an animator and creative designer. Many aspects of these disciplines are complementary, and studying them as Joint Honours is full of possibilities. It could lead to an innovative, interdisciplinary final-year project that draws all your interests together. Your creative development will take place alongside the development of craft and digital skills that are applicable to a wide range of graduate career and employment possibilities.
In addition to developing your capabilities as an animator, the course will enable you to develop a wide range of transferable skills, from research and analysis techniques to problem-solving, communication, and negotiation. Animators are increasingly in demand as the industry expands. Our interdisciplinary approach gives flexibility and will develop in you a wider view of the world that is both attractive to employers, and empowers you to create your own opportunities through creative entrepreneurship. You will find career opportunities not only in animation production but also in the games industry, television motion graphics, compositing, special effects, and advertising.
Graduates from Graphic Design & Multimedia have gone on to work in sectors such as publishing, graphic design, web design, media, and arts administration, or are self-employed. This course also provides an excellent basis for further studies. Its interdisciplinary nature means that students develop skills that are attractive to employers.
