BA (Hons) Modern Languages

... United Kingdom
... University of Chester

Course Overview

There are several very attractive features of the Modern Languages course at Chester, such as studying Chinese or Portuguese as language choices and the length of time you can spend working or studying on placements for each of the languages you will study.

We provide the opportunity to spend up to 18 months in up to three different countries. If you choose to study three languages you may study two of them at the beginner level.

A degree in Modern Languages develops an impressive range of skills including strong communication and presentation skills, the ability to work autonomously and in groups, analytical and critical discernment, and the resilience and confidence developed during placements abroad. Graduates from the Modern Languages Department often pursue further study or careers in translation, teaching, business, hospitality, civil service, or in international organizations.
