The curriculum consists of concurrent classroom courses, laboratory and simulation learning, and clinical practice experience. Students have opportunities for learning in a variety of settings including community, speciality, and academic medical centres and hospitals; long-term care facilities and clinics; and community-based clinical learning experiences. The baccalaureate degree program in nursing at James Madison University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The program is also approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing.
