Course Overview

You can apply for student midwife positions when they become life. Links to the NHS website will become available approximately four months before the start date. This course is designed for registered nurses to train as midwives. The University of Suffolk offers an exciting environment, within which to study Midwifery. The staff that guides students through their studies are well qualified with a wide range of experience in the discipline. There are excellent links between us and the local trusts where students gain clinical experience. The course supports students in developing a range of knowledge, skills, values, and competencies, which meet the professional requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). This course enables successful students to gain registration as a midwife on the Nursing and Midwifery Professional Register.

General Eligibility

  • Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a Registered Nurse (Adult) first level status. This must be maintained to meet the NMC revalidation requirements for the duration of the course.

  • A Degree or Diploma in Higher Education or 60 level 5 credits and

  • Six months’ full-time post registration experience within the last two years.ars

Part Time Work Details

20 Hours of Work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • For applicants whose first language is not English, but who have been living in the UK for less than two years (or have not lived in the UK at all), we accept IELTS 7.0.
