The course is delivered over a number of weekends throughout the year with additional online support through group and one-to-one tutorials. Whether a €˜newbie or €˜hardened professional, the course aims to challenge both your and the outdoor sectors intellectual and academic understanding through a vocational context. Within the early part of the course, you will develop a critical understanding of applied research methods and analysis (through the Research Methods in Outdoor Practice module) while also reflecting upon and challenging your current philosophical beliefs within the outdoor setting (Contextualising Outdoor Practice module). The later part of the course sees you embark on self-directed research in an area of your choice.
