Master of Architecture (Professional)

The Master of Architecture (Professional) program at Auckland University of Technology is a professional degree that prepares students for a career in architecture. The program is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to succeed in the field. Students will learn about design principles, building codes and regulations, construction methods, and sustainability practices. The program also includes a professional practice component, which provides students with the opportunity to gain practical experience through internships or work-based learning. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to sit for the Architectural Examiners Board (AIB) examination and register as a practicing architect in New Zealand.

The programme is professionally accredited by the New Zealand Registered Architects Board. You’ll develop a critical approach to architectural design, become familiar with architectural history and contemporary architecture practice, and learn to apply Te Aranga Māori design principles to your work.

• Must have completed the Bachelor of Architecture and Future Environments or equivalent with a B grade average or higher in courses at level 7; or equivalent.

• May be required to submit a portfolio of work and/or attend a selection interview.

20 Hours of Work permit weekly for international students.
