Auckland University of Technology (AUT) is a public university in Auckland, New Zealand. Its history dates back to 1895, when it began as Auckland Technical School. It became Auckland University of Technology in 2000 and is now one of New Zealand's universities with a large international student community. AUT has three campuses across Auckland: City Campus, North Campus and South Campus.
AUT offers more than 250 programmes across undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. Major study areas include business, law, communication, education, health, engineering, computer science, construction, architecture, art and design, hospitality, tourism and sport. The university is known for practical learning, research and links with employers. Its research covers areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics, public health, ecology and technology.
