Course Overview

In a world of increasing globalisation, there is a need for world class operations managers who can work effectively in an international business environment.

On this programme, you will study in depth the function of operations management and its role within a successful organisation. You will look at managing operations and complex situations while developing the skills to work closely with marketing and sales, research and development, procurement and supply chain functions. There is a high level of technical input and your learning will be informed by examples from numerous manufacturing and service settings.

Salford Business School is at the forefront of preparing the next generation of business managers. You will look at how technology such as automation and artificial intelligence is driving Industry 4.0 and the opportunities and challenges provided by Big Data Analytics, the Internet of Things, the Digital Economy, Drone Applications, 3D Printing, Robotics, Augmented Reality and more.

The programme is highly industry-focussed and culminates in a period of time on work experience. You can choose between a 9-12 month paid placement or the 3-6 month Industry Collaboration Project. Whichever you choose, you will put into practice the knowledge that you've learned.
