The BEng in Aeronautical Engineering is designed to help you solve real-world problems and develop new industrially-relevant solutions. The programme aims to provide a stimulating learning environment for understanding the engineer's role, mechatronics and related engineering sectors and enhancing your skillset to deal with issues in product design engineering.
In this course, you will gain extensive knowledge and understanding of the most up-to-date theories and hands-on work within sustainability, aerodynamics, design engineering, mechanical systems and related wider engineering sector.
The programme will enable you to plan, execute and critically analyse the results of practical and simulation tests within the mechatronics engineering context.
Finally, it will provide you with the experience to demonstrate self-direction and originality in solving problems and act autonomously in planning and implementing tasks professionally with a clear understanding of health and safety, ethics, sustainability and legal dimensions.
112 UCAS points from an equivalent Level 3 qualification listed on the UCAS tariff calculator, including:
A Level in at least two subjects, including Mathematics, Physics or Electronics
BTEC Extended Diploma – DMM in a relevant subject
BTEC Diploma – D*D* in a relevant subject
Access to HE Diploma in a numerate or Computing relevant subject
T Levels in a relevant subject
International Baccalaureate – 24 points, including a minimum of 16 points at a Higher Level, and must include Mathematics and Physics at Higher Level.
We also welcome applications from students taking Level 3 or higher qualifications not on the UCAS tariff calculator and will assess the suitability on a case-by-case basis.
In addition to one of the above, you should have the following:
GCSE English Grade 4/C or Level 2 Functional Skills in English
GCSE Mathematics Grade 4/C or Level 2 Functional Skills in Mathematics
20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.
IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 6.0 in Writing and Speaking; 5.5 in Reading and Listening (or recognised equivalent).
