This course specializes in explosive ordnance and engineering and is world-class in teaching and research. We have a diverse student body drawn mainly from personnel linked to the military from numerous industries and institutions in the UK and overseas, providing a rich educational experience.
Students are introduced to up-to-date and current research, which enables them to obtain a critical awareness of problem-solving and the capability to evaluate both military and commercial best practices in the field of EOE.
A degree in a science or engineering-related subject or, exceptionally, with at least seven years of experience. If you are applying for entry to the MSc in EOE through the experiential route, then up to three successful completions of EOE modules as stand-alone accredited short courses can be used as part of the case to provide supporting evidence of academic ability for entry onto the MSc in EOE.
This program is accredited as a program of further learning for CEng registration. When presented together with a CEng-accredited bachelor's program, the educational requirements for CEng registration will be met in full. Students who do not have a first degree should contact the relevant institute directly for further details on whether they meet the requirements.
To study for a formal award with us, you must demonstrate that you can communicate effectively in English in an academic environment before starting the course.
Most applicants meet our English language requirements by obtaining a higher education qualification from a UK university.
Applicants without UK qualifications can usually meet the English requirement through employment in the UK (a minimum of 5 years continuous work immediately before the start of the course is required), providing you can supply a reference from your current employer which explicitly confirms you can communicate effectively in English.
