Course Overview

Computer science incorporates a number of specialist areas underpinning the digital technologies we use every day. Our course is taught by leading researchers who are pushing the boundaries of what is possible in this rapidly changing field to ensure you're up to date with the latest developments.

You'll learn the main areas of the discipline, including software engineering, Artificial Intelligence, information security, and data analytics, as well as computer systems, databases, and networks.

With a work-based learning module embedded within the course, you'll also have the chance to develop your skills in the workplace and enhance your CV.

At the University of East London, we have BCS Accreditation, Microsoft IT Academy, and CompTIA Academy status, so your qualification will be recognized and valued anywhere in the IT sector.

Our Computer Science with Foundation Year program is perfect if you want a degree in the field, but do not have the standard entry requirements. The purpose of the extra Foundation year is to prepare you for your Computer Science program, equipping you with the necessary academic skills and a firm grounding in the subject.

General Eligibility

A LEVEL

Including passes at A2 in at least two subjects. Must include one subject in maths or computer science or another relevant subject.

BTEC

Extended diploma or diploma in a numerate or computing-related subject.

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE

Diploma with 25 points including a minimum of 15 points at Higher Level and must include maths at Higher Level

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

• IELTS score of 5.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking (or recognized equivalent).
