Studying religious studies enables you to have a thorough understanding of diverse philosophical and ethical viewpoints. You will critically understand, interpret and evaluate religious concepts, texts and other sources. In the AS year, you will study the philosophy of religion and ethics and you will study one religion in depth. You will have two exams at the end of the academic year. In the A Level year, you will study the above as well as the study of religion and dialogues. You will have two, three-hour exams at the end of the academic year.
You will need 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English language at grade 5 or above. GCSE religious studies are desirable but not essential. If you have taken GCSE Religious Studies at school, you should have achieved at least a grade 6 (B).
20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.
