The first two years of your course will be spent here in Leicester, leading to the award of the LLB degree (conferred at the end of your time in Strasbourg). You will then move to the Université de Strasbourg for two years. Successful completion of the programme there culminates in the award of a Maîtrise en droit mention 'droits français et Anglais. You will also gain a specialization in private, corporate, or public European law. When you graduate, you will be awarded two qualifying law degrees: LLB and Maîtrise. These qualifications will reflect your English, French, and European law competence. The Maîtrise is similar to the LLB in that it qualifies you for the professional examinations in France.
A-levels: AAA-AAB, including French. General Studies accepted.
GCSE: English language at Grade C/4 or above.
International Baccalaureate: Pass Diploma with 36-34 points, including 6 in Higher Level French. Plus, grade 4 in SL English if not held at GCSE.
French Baccalaureate: 15 overall with at least 14 in English
French International Option Baccalaureate: 14 overall with at least 12 in English.
Twenty hours of work permit weekly for international students.
IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If your first language is not English, you may need to prove your English ability. If you do not yet meet our requirements, our English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU) offers a range of courses to help you to improve your English to the necessary standard.
