BSc in Economics and Business Administration

The Bachelor in Economics and Business Administration at the University of Vaasa started as part of the university’s early focus on business education. Over time, the programme expanded to include economics, management, and marketing studies. Later updates introduced more data-based learning and stronger links with international business practices.

Teaching has moved from mainly classroom lectures to a mix of group work, case analysis, and project-based tasks with companies. This shift supports understanding of real business situations. Courses now include topics such as financial reporting, economic theory, marketing strategy, and organisational behaviour.

The programme supports continuation into master’s studies in Finland or abroad. Many graduates move into banking, consulting, trade, and public administration roles. The structure follows European academic standards, which supports recognition across many countries. The programme continues to adjust course content based on changes in business practices and labour market needs in Finland and other regions.
