PGCert/PGDip/MSc Professional Practice (Healthcare)

This course is designed for healthcare professionals who want to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge in a variety of healthcare settings. The program focuses on developing the critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills necessary to provide high-quality patient care. Students will have the opportunity to learn from experienced healthcare professionals and engage in practical exercises that simulate real-world scenarios. The course is delivered part-time over 12 months, with a mix of online and on-campus learning.

Additional Information

The course consists of three stages: PGCert, PGDip, and MSc. Students who complete the PGCert stage can progress to the PGDip stage, and then to the MSc stage. The MSc stage involves a dissertation or research project. The course is designed to be flexible and adaptable to busy healthcare professionals' schedules, with online learning materials and synchronous sessions available.

This will enable you to innovatively lead, direct and enhance clinical practice, whilst expanding the evidence base for your own area of practice. In order for you to deliver appropriate interventions aimed at the management of patients, the course structure will focus on the evidence for a range of assessment skills and therapeutic management strategies. You will also be able to synthesize contemporary initiatives in relation to current practice and service delivery to creatively provide a safe and effective service.

Normally a first degree will be required. However, experienced healthcare professionals with evidence of a recent successful study at Level 6 will be considered. Students will have a healthcare background and currently be in clinical practice.
