BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology with Foundation Year

This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of architectural technology. Students will learn about the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings, as well as the environmental and sustainability considerations that are essential in the field. The foundation year provides an opportunity for students who do not meet the direct entry requirements to develop their academic skills and knowledge before progressing to the full degree. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to demonstrate a critical understanding of the technical and creative aspects of architectural technology, as well as the ability to apply this knowledge in real-world situations.

This course is offered as a four-year program, including an initial Foundation Year. Our Architectural Design and Technology degree is an excellent choice for you. This course is designed to provide you with a sound knowledge of the architectural design process, and the opportunity to acquire the necessary skills required to become a professional architectural technologist. Central to your learning will be the time you will spend in the design studio using industry-standard design suites to develop and apply your skills to building design projects. You will study a variety of subjects to become proficient in construction technology, materials, legislation, and management. Applicants who do not meet the minimum requirements for our three-year programs, or those who do not feel fully prepared for first-year entry, can be considered for the four-year program including a foundation year. Applicants to these will have typically achieved between 32-56 UCAS tariff points.
