Course Overview

The interior design utilises colour, pattern and materiality to create memorable interior atmospheres, considering design'sgn's aesthetics, psychology and functionality. 

If you have a colourful and innovative mind, the world of interior design could be for you. Exploring commercial, experiential and residential spacyou'llu’ll learn to develop impactful interiors backed by explorations into design theories, psychology, social impact and sustainability. 

With dedicated design studios and access to high-spec facilities, including VR, suityou'llu’ll gain technical skills through hands-on, collaborative projects and live industry brieYou'llu’ll also develop industry-standard professional practice skills have the opportunity to apply for competitive internships. 

You will:

  • Work with a variety of exciting industry partners such as Gensler, DSK, MIX Magazine and Sanders Studios 

  • Hone your skills and pitch ideas to compete for a coveted industry placement 

  • Negotiate your design projects and develop an individual design philosophy as you consider your future role in the industry 

  • Engage with the creative and collaborative work ethic of the future through interdisciplinary projects 

  • Discover new ways of expressing yourself through our studio culture, IT suites and workshops 

  • Draw inspiration from our extensive materials library 

  • Have the opportunity to go on study trips such as Milan Furniture Fair (Salone Internazionale del Mobile di Milano) and Dutch Design Week (DDW), the most significant design event in Northern Europe 

General Eligibility

We consider all applications on their merit and potential. We invite all applicants to an interview day or audition to allow them to demonstrate this, along with what inspires and motivates them in their field. Depending on the course, applicants can also show their portfolio or give a performance. We welcome applications from all subject backgrounds, whether you’ve specialised in STEM, the arts or the humanities.  


Course route Entry requirements

BA/BSc(Hons) three-year degree 104 – 120 UCAS Tariff points

BA/BSc(Hons) four year degree

with placement year 104 – 120 UCAS Tariff points

UCAS Tariff points will primarily be from Level 3 qualifications such as but not limited to A-levels, T Levels, a BTEC/UAL Extended Diploma or a Foundation Diploma.

Part Time Work Details

Twenty hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • For applicants whose first language is English, we require you to have or be working towards GCSE English Language Grade 4 (C) or equivalent.

    If English is not your first language, you must meet the same standard, equivalent to the IELTS Academic 6.0 overall score, with at least 5.5 in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. In addition, we accepted a range of in-country equivalencies and approved tests.
