Course Overview

Environmental geology is a growing area of active research as it provides insights into how the environment has evolved over geological time and how this relates to changes happening today. If you have an undergraduate degree in earth sciences, geology, or a related field but want to increase your knowledge of environmental geology, then our Graduate Certificate in Environmental Geology will bring you up to date with developments in the field. The specialist knowledge you acquire could help you change your career, build a career within the environmental or education sector, or enable you to progress onto graduate research at the Ph.D. level. You will be taught by academics who are actively engaged in cutting-edge environmental research that is expanding the boundaries of knowledge. We cover coastal erosion, mineralogy, geoarchaeology, volcanology, earthquake forecasting, palaeoclimatology, and paleontology, as well as offering advanced modules in many other subjects. You can choose from a range of modules to create a program that matches, expands, and deepens your particular interests.

General Eligibility

A Certificate of Higher Education in Geology or previous study to that level. Applications are reviewed on their individual merits and your professional qualifications and/or relevant work experience will be taken into consideration positively.
