The key to gaining employment in the games industry is the quality of your portfolio, and developing this, is an integral part of the course. Your Level 3 subjects must include a at least one creative subject that includes some art and design; for instance, A-level Art and Design or BTEC Extended Diploma in Interactive Media. You should also have five GCSEs at grade C or above or grade 4 to 9 (or equivalent) including English. If you don’t meet the standard entry requirements you may be accepted on the basis of a satisfactory portfolio and interview performance. You may be required to attend an interview and/or provide a portfolio of work.
Apprentices will need to be employed by your organization for a minimum of 30 hours per week. Your organization will also need to commit to sponsoring apprentices to complete this qualification.
If English isn’t your first language, you’ll also need IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band (or equivalent). We also accept a range of other English language qualifications
