Course Overview

Join the exciting world of sports, a multi-billion-dollar industry that entertains audiences around the world. Cover high school sports for local news media, collegiate and professional teams at the regional or national level, or work on behalf of these teams and athletes to build relationships with media members and coordinate dissemination of information to journalists and other news media.

In Lipscomb’s undergraduate program in Sports Media, you’ll prepare to enter the fields of sports journalism and sports promotion with coursework in writing, production, design and promotion. Work with the Herd Media, Lipscomb’s award-winning on-campus student media group featuring live television and radio coverage of games. And learn what it takes to produce and broadcast athletic events by working on ESPN coverage of Lipscomb sports. When you graduate, you’ll be equipped with the skills to thrive in this fast-paced industry.
