Master of Professional Accounting (MPA)

Course Overview

The graduates of the Master of Professional Accounting will be able to:

1. Explain in detail the coherent body of knowledge, and research principles and methods, fundamental and contemporary to, and in the broader context of, the accounting and related disciplines.

2. Apply research, critical thinking, information literacy, creative, evaluation, and complex problem-solving skills in the application of advanced theoretical and technical knowledge within the context of accounting and other practice and scholarship.

3. Communicate effectively, with justification, in a range of contexts with professionals and non-professionals.

4. Exercise high-level professional judgement and identify and respond to ethical issues in a range of contexts.

5. Learn and work independently and collaboratively and reflect upon feedback to identify and enact self and group improvements.

General Eligibility

• An Australian Bachelor degree or equivalent; OR

• An Australian Graduate Diploma; OR

• An Australian Graduate Certificate or equivalent plus evidence of a minimum of two years’ demonstrable relevant industry experience; OR

• Advanced Diploma/Associate Degree or equivalent plus evidence of a minimum of five years’ demonstrable relevant industry experience.

Part Time Work Details

20 Hours of Work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

• An English test score with minimum requirements as follows:

  • IELTS Overall 6.5 with no band score lower than 6.0; OR

  • PTE Academic Score of 56; OR

  • TOEFL iBT Score of 79-93; OR

  • Cambridge English: Advanced from Cambridge ESOL (CAE) Score of 176, OR

  • Equivalent as determined by Holmes English Placement Test.
