Course Overview
The programme builds strong understanding of human nutrition, dietary assessment, and nutrition therapy in clinical and public health settings. Students study how nutrition links with diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular conditions, and obesity. Training includes laboratory work, patient case studies, and research assignments linked with real healthcare environments.
Students complete a research-based thesis under academic supervision, focusing on clinical or population nutrition topics. The programme supports skills in data analysis, dietary planning, and evidence-based nutrition practice.
Graduates move into hospitals, public health organisations, research institutions, and food industry roles. Some continue into doctoral studies in nutrition and health sciences. The programme has developed through research activity in nutrition science units and cooperation with healthcare partners in Finland and abroad.
