The program builds skills in data analysis, programming, and social research methods. Students learn how to handle large datasets and apply statistical models to social questions such as communication patterns, public opinion, and online behaviour.
Graduates work in research institutes, public sector roles, international organizations, and data-focused positions in private companies. The program also supports doctoral study paths. Students gain experience in both social theory and data methods used in research and policy settings.
Applicants need a bachelor’s degree in forestry, environmental science, biology, or related fields. Academic transcripts and proof of English language ability are required. Some applicants may be asked for GRE scores depending on background.
Part-time work allowed under Finnish residence permit rules. Study progress must remain satisfactory
