Course Overview

The Economics B.A. provides a 120-credit undergraduate education combining economics with a broad liberal arts foundation. Students study principles of economics, econometrics, intermediate microeconomics, intermediate macroeconomics, business statistics and calculus. They then choose economics electives based on their academic interests.

Students can study subjects such as international trade, exchange rates, economic development, money and banking, public finance, health economics, labor economics and game theory. The programme gives students opportunities to connect classroom learning with business and economic activity through guest lectures, field visits and internships.

The degree is linked with SLU's wider economics programme, allowing students to study abroad and make use of the relationship between the Madrid and St. Louis campuses. Graduates can enter areas such as banking, consulting, finance, insurance, government, real estate and business. The programme can support further study in economics, finance, business and related fields.
