Course Overview
The programme builds strong knowledge in forest ecosystems, sustainable resource use, and forest planning methods used in Nordic conditions. Students take part in field studies across Finnish forests, gaining direct exposure to research methods used in forest measurement, biodiversity assessment, and climate-related studies. The curriculum connects science with practical forestry operations and wood-based industry processes.
Graduates from this programme have moved into research roles, environmental agencies, forestry companies, and international organisations. The course has grown steadily through research development at the School of Forest Sciences, with strong publication output and cooperation with global research networks. Its training approach supports both academic progress and applied skills used in forest sector work across different regions.
