Course Overview

This new, hands-on Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) has been specially developed by the University of Bedfordshire to ensure you gain the practical skills and knowledge you need to take up a career in the construction industry, specifically around roles in construction management and supervision.

HTQs are a new qualification equivalent to a HNC or Higher Apprenticeship and approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education. This HTQ meets the occupational standards needed to become a construction manager or supervisor and, on successful completion of the course, you can apply to be a member of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers.

The University has been offering qualifications in construction for over 15 years, and we work closely with over 25 construction organisations across the UK. We also provide opportunities to hear from industry guest speakers, go on field visits and attend industry expos. All of which means you receive a high-quality and practical educational experience as well as the chance to network with industry experts and prepare for your transition into employment.

We will consider you as an individual and take into account all elements of your application, not just your qualifications. We are looking for breadth and depth in your current studies and enthusiasm for the subject you wish to study.
