Course Overview

Working alongside qualified expert physiotherapists, you will learn profession-specific skills which meet the needs of your future employers. During your physiotherapy degree you'll complete 1,000 hours of work-based practice, taking advantage of our exceptional industry links. You will have the opportunity to take part in a flexible self-directed placement in Year 2 that allows you to explore areas of your specific interest.

Our industry-experienced tutors will provide you with theoretical backing and hands-on opportunities in our physiotherapy and simulation suites. Whilst learning, you will be able to work with other Institute of Health students, as you would in a professional role.

On completion of this physiotherapy course, you will be eligible to apply for membership to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). This will open up a variety of employment opportunities in the NHS, private and sporting sectors.

General Eligibility

• A-levels: BBB-AAB to include Biology or PE at grade B (40 points)

• T-levels: M-D T levels Healthcare Science and Health are accepted for entry to this course

• Access to HE: 24 Credits at Distinction & 21 at Merit – 39 Credits at Distinction & 6 at Merit to include 21 credits in Biology or Human Physiology.

• CACHE Technical Level 3 and Level 3 Extended Diploma: B – A Science based

• OCR Cambridge Technical & Edexcel/Pearson BTEC Level 3 (National) Extended Diploma: DDM – DDD – includes specific units – minimum 60 credits in Biology in an Applied Science/Health and Social Care programme

• Scottish Highers: 120-136 UCAS Tariff Points preferably from 4 Highers to include A (33 points) in Biology

• Irish LC Highers: 120-136 UCAS Tariff Points preferably from 4 Irish Leaving Certificate Highers to include A2 (30 points) in Biology

• Other experience: Applicants are strongly advised to seek work experience in physiotherapy before application/interview to gain a full understanding of current physiotherapy practice.

Part Time Work Details

20 Hours of Work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

• The IELTS score for international applicants is 6 (with no less than 5.5 in each component).
