Our online MSc in Applied Statistics is a conversion course that offers the opportunity to develop statistics and data analysis skills even if you have never studied statistics.
You'll be supported through this programme by members of staff who work directly with industry to develop skills relevant to current research areas, including population health and medicine, animal and plant health, finance and business. Modules are delivered entirely online, giving students the flexibility to study at times that suit them. You'll gain skills in the following:
problem-solving
analysis and manipulation of complex data
the use of statistical software for data analysis and reporting
effective communication of statistics
Academic requirements/experience
minimum second-class (2:2) Honours degree or overseas equivalent
mathematical training to A Level or equivalent standard
Prospective students with relevant experience or appropriate professional qualifications are also welcome to apply.
For Australia and Canada, average degrees in relevant disciplines are accepted.
Mathematical knowledge
Applicants are required to have some prior mathematical knowledge, for example, A Level or equivalent in:
calculus
linear algebra
differential equations
20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.
