Course Overview

Good health and nutrition are essential to an individual’s quality of life. In fact, the importance of healthy eating, dietary planning, and disease prevention are issues that most people talk about on a daily basis. To meet the demand for qualified nutritionists and registered dietitians, the Department of Biomedical, Health and Nutritional Sciences at LIU Post offers a full range of undergraduate and graduate degree programs in nutrition, including a dietetic internship leading to eligibility for the Registered Dietitian examination.

General Eligibility

To meet graduation requirements, a student must maintain a major GPA of 3.3 in nutrition (NTR) courses. Students who receive a grade of “B-” in a required NTR course may be required to repeat the course and receive a grade of “B” or better, unless their major GPA exceeds minimum requirements. Courses cannot be repeated more than once.

The cumulative GPA must be at least 3.0 for graduation
