Course Overview

Instrumentation and control engineers contribute to almost every area of modern manufacturing, service and financial industries. Our graduates work worldwide for various industrial and contracting companies, including ABB, BASF, BNFL, Honeywell, Tioxide, Petrofac, Sabic and INEOS.

You develop the skills to design and maintain advanced measurement and control systems and learn how these are applied to multimillion-pound chemical and manufacturing plants.

This course includes a foundation year - ideal if you need additional preparation or don't have good grades to join Year 1 of a degree.

General Eligibility

  • Any combination of recognised Level 3 qualifications. Each application is considered on a case-by-case basis. We look for evidence of your learning ability and commitment to succeed in your studies.

  • Maths requirement

  • GCSE maths at grade 4+ or an equivalent.

  • International students needing a visa to study in the UK should check our international web pages for acceptable international qualifications and UKVI-compliant English language requirements.

Part Time Work Details

20 Hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • The IELTS score for international applicants is 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in each component).
