This combined honours degree in Welsh and History provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the history, culture, and language of Wales. Students will explore the rich cultural heritage of Wales through the study of its history, literature, and language, while also gaining a broader perspective on historical events and trends. The program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in both subjects, as well as the skills and knowledge necessary for further academic or professional pursuits.
Students will have the opportunity to develop their language skills through the study of Welsh, and will also gain practical experience through field trips, archival work, and other hands-on learning opportunities. Graduates of this program can pursue a variety of careers, including teaching, journalism, museum curation, and more.

This course enables you to study the interaction between history, literature and language. You can study Welsh history modules and can also choose modules covering the history of Britain, Europe and the wider world. The provision in Welsh ranges from the tales of the Mabinogion to contemporary literature. Your linguistic studies will encompass the history of Welsh and its practical use for work-related purposes in preparation for employment in areas such as the civil service, local government, broadcasting, publishing, teaching, translation and arts sectors.

The 20 hours is total hours. It is not per job. If you hold multiple part-time jobs then the total hours of all the work you are doing added together.

If you do not meet the English Language requirements to enter the International Incorporated Bachelors or the International Incorporated Masters, BUIC offers you a range of Pre-sessional English Programmes which you can take before you start these courses.
If you have an IELTS of 5.0 (with no component below 4.5), you will be offered a 6-week Pre-sessional English course immediately preceding your entry to the IYZ.
If you have an IELTS of 4.5 (with no component below 4.0), you will be offered a 12-week Pre-Sessional English course immediately preceding your entry to the IYZ.
